Originated in Mexico, the Day of the Dead (Dia de Muertos) is a holiday that is celebrated around the globe. Celebrations take place November 1 - November 2, in connection with All Hallows Eve. Friends and family will gather together to pray and to remember those who have died. Traditions that are often known with this holiday include creating alters with sugar skulls, marigolds, and the deceased’s favorite foods and drinks.
